BURGUNDY FINE WINES

Our philosophy

A TRIBUTE TO OUR ROOTS
The Pion family is known in France and throughout the world of wine for its integrity, passion and devotion. This has enabled them to distribute the most famous estates of Burgundy, since 1950.
Today Pion “le meilleur du vin” represents more than 300 family estates. Oliver and Christian Pion have decided that after sixty years of distributing wines for others, to also become winemakers themselves. In doing so, they wish to transmit their family values through the production of an eponym range of fine Burgundy wines.
After some trials with the 2012 vintage, the assortment named “Racines Croisées” (Crossed Roots) was launched in autumn 2014 with the 2013 vintage. The goal of this production is to offer a refined selection of vine parcels predominately located in the Côte d’Or, with flawless quality and an affordable price point for the consumer.
Terroir and sharing, inseparable from wine, respect for the vine and the men, are values common to both Pion brothers.

THE RANGE
“Racines Croisées” is our umbrella brand and constitutes the main range of the Maison Henri Pion. It underlines the primacy role of the vines and soil to produce a fine quality wine with respect for the environment. It represents also the work of the man who meets the destiny of the vine to exalt its fruit and produce its nectar associated with the heavens.
The quality of our production comes first from the work of the winegrowers whom we work closely with. Our wines are aged in French oak barrels directly in the wine growers’ cellars which we constantly supervise. Wines are then bottled in our modern bottling facilities in Beaune.
Crossed Roots consists of 22 cuvées for the 2013 vintage and a total production of 37,650 bottles. The volume of each cuvée is specified on the label to highlight detailed effort performed by the Pion brothers and their team. The numbering aims to make each bottle unique.
